PM Pashinyan and European Council President Costa Discuss Armenia-EU Relations and Regional Peace

MUNICH – Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with European Council President António Costa on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.

The two leaders discussed various issues related to Armenia-European Union cooperation. Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized the EU’s continued support for Armenia’s democratic reforms, highlighting that the full implementation of the reform agenda remains a priority for the Armenian government.

He also underscored Armenia’s commitment to expanding and strengthening multilateral ties with the EU, aiming to enhance capabilities across various sectors.

President Costa welcomed the Armenian government’s efforts to strengthen democracy and implement institutional reforms. He reaffirmed the EU’s commitment to deepening the partnership based on shared values and expanding cooperation in all areas.

The discussion also covered the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process, the potential for unblocking regional communication routes, and the Armenian government’s “Crossroads of Peace” initiative.

President Costa acknowledged and welcomed Armenia’s efforts and initiatives toward fostering peace in the region.
