YEREVAN — Superheavyweight boxer Davit Chaloyan will be Armenia’s flag bearer at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris.
His candidacy was approved on Tuesday at the meeting of the executive committee of the Armenian National Olympic Committee.
Davit Chaloyan, the silver medalist of the 2021 World Championship and the bronze medalist of the Army World Championship, will participate in the Olympic Games for the first time in his career.
The opening ceremony of the Olympic Games will take place on July 26.
Armenia will be represented by shooter Elmira Karapetyan, gymnasts Artur Davtyan and Vahagn Davtyan, Greco-Roman wrestlers Artur Aleksanyan, Malkhas Amoyan, Slavik Galstyan, freestyle wrestlers Arsen Harutyunyan and Vazgen Tevanyan, weightlifters Andranik Karapetyan, Garik Karapetyan and Varazdat Lalayan, boxer Davit Chaloyan, swimmers Varsenik Manucharyan and Artur Barseghyan, runner Yervand Mkrtchyan.
Elmira Karapetyan left for Paris today, where she will participate in the Olympic torch relay on July 17.
