Azerbaijan Anti-Armenian Initiative Fails at UN

NEW YORK — Yet another anti-Armenian initiative by Azerbaijan has failed; this time at the United Nations (UN).

For months, Azerbaijan attempted to disrupt the activities of the Human Rights Defender (Ombudsman) of Armenia, Arman Tatoyan, at the upper echelons of the UN, reported Aysor (Today) news agency.

Apparently, Baku did not like Tatoyan’s activeness in international discussions on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and therefore it demanded from the UN to curtail his activities in this international organization and strip him from the highest—A—status.

This initiative of Azerbaijan, however, achieved no result at the UN.

It was explained that the UN is pleased with the work of Armenia’s ombudsman and considers it important to collaborate with him.
