“Next Generation” Concert a Tremendous Success

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – On Saturday 17 February 2017, the Armenian Nor Serount Cultural Association of Sydney, Australia organized an Armenian folkloric dance concert described as “Next Generation” signifying the real next generation of dancers that began almost 30 years ago when the inaugural Nor Serount Dance Group was formed in Sydney, Australia.
Over 400 people and distinguished guests attended the “Next Generation” concert at the Glen Street Theatre in Sydney’s northern beaches suburb of Belrose, held under the auspices of his Grace, Bishop Haigazoun Najarian, Primate of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Australia and New Zealand.
The audience was delighted with the performance of the 30 member dance group and elated to experience the importance of sustaining the values of Armenian culture and heritage.
The Nor Serount Dance Committee heartily thanks all the parents, dancers and choreographers Annie and Nyree Janoian as well as the many volunteers behind the scenes for their efforts in showcasing the concert and making this cultural event a great success.
In the words of famous 20th century Armenian poet Kevork Emin:
“This is not dance, but a Nation’s heroic history”.
The concert was concluded with his Eminence Bishop Najarian’s closing remarks and delivery of the Lord’s Prayer.
