Nazarpek Youth Protest Azeri Propaganda in France

PARIS – On Sunday, February 26, in the heart of the French capital, Azeri dictatorial authorities planned an musical performance dedicated to the so called “Khojali Massacres.”

In response, the Social Democrat Hunchakian Party’s Nazarpek Youth Association, with the coordination of the Armenian Council of Europe mobilized various youth groups and organized a counter demonstration to this blatant attempt at Azeri propaganda.

“We organized this protest against this event, which aspires to desecrate the good name of Armenians in order to justify continued aggression against Artsakh.” read a statement issued by the Nazarpek Youth Association. “With a decline in the price of oil causing a recession in the Azeri economy and rising unemployment, the Azeri regime is increasing the threat of war to avoid economic and social issues being raised by its people.”

“To justify this state of war, the Azeri authorities have been utilizing events such as this, to falsely portray Armenians as murders and confuse its own citizenry, as well as the international community, while it continues to attack,” the statement continued.

“We, the SDHP Nazarpek Youth Association, will continue to fight against the authoritarian, fascist and racist Azeri regime. We will not allow the blood stained Azeri regime, the same regime that massacred and deported 500,000 ethnic Armenians during the Sumgayit and Baku pogroms, to advance its racist propaganda.”
