US Delegation Visits Armenia-Azerbaijan Border

YEREVAN (Mediamax) — A delegation of the US Senate Committee on Armed Services staff visited the 3rd Army Corps of Armenian Defense Ministry on July 21.

Members of the delegation had a meeting with Armenian First Deputy Minister of Defense Davit Tonoyan and the command staff of the Corps.

The meeting included presentation of current situation at the state border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, frequency of ceasefire violations made by the Azerbaijani side, and its consequences.

In Tavush marz, the US delegation had meetings with Governor Hovik Abovyan and the administration of the borderline communities, who presented the impact that ceasefire violations have on the daily life of civil population in those communities, regarding the safety of civilians, implementation of agricultural works and use of infrastracture.

The delegation of the US Senate Committee on Armed Services staff also visited the training center of the Peacekeeping Brigade of Armenian Defense Ministry.
