BERLIN – Former IBF middleweight and WBO super middleweight champion Arthur Abraham returned with a win after losing his WBO title in April to Gilberto Ramirez in Las Vegas by scoring an eighth round tko win over Norwegian fighter Tim-Robin Lihaug.
Arthur Abraham (45-5, 30KOs) was always in charge despite his naturally economic style and eventually wore down the Norwegian with several heavy hooks to force the referee to wave it off in the eighth.
Lihaug, who was taking a very big step up in class, was broken down round by round by Abraham’s punches. He went down hard in the eight round, started taking more punishment and his corner threw in th towel to stop the contest.“With the win Abraham picks up the vacant WBO International super middleweight world title.
