Kim Kardashian Blasts Wall Street Journal for Publishing Ad Denying Armenian Genocide

LOS ANGELES — Kim Kardashian has slammed editors at the Wall Street Journal for running an ad denying the Armenian genocide.

The ad, printed in the April 20 edition of the paper and paid for by Turkic Platform, reads ‘Truth = Peace’ and features the genocide-denial website, FactCheckArmenia.com

Kardashian said it is absurd to feature an advertisement dismissing the Genocide. “For the Wall Street Journal to publish something like this is reckless, upsetting and dangerous,” she wrote on her website on Wednesday. “It’s one thing when a s**tty tabloid profits from a made-up scandal, but for a trusted publication like WSJ to profit from genocide – it’s shameful and unacceptable.”

A spokesperson for the Wall Street Journal has defended the publications decision to print the ad, insisting it does not reflect their viewpoints. However, the 35-year-old Kardashian feels it was disrespectful.

“We accept a wide range of advertisements, including those with provocative viewpoints,” a representative from the publication told Gawker.com. “While we review ad copy for issues of taste, the varied and divergent views expressed belong to the advertisers.”

“Advocating the denial of a genocide by the country responsible for it – that’s not publishing a ‘provocative viewpoint’, that’s spreading lies,” Kim continued. “It’s totally morally irresponsible and, most of all, it’s dangerous. If this had been an ad denying the Holocaust, or pushing some 9/11 conspiracy theory, would it have made it to print?”

“We must talk about it until it is recognized by our government because when we deny our past, we endanger our future,” she added. “When we allow ourselves to be silenced by money, by fear and by power, we teach our children that truth is irrelevant.
