NKR Forces Thwart Azeri Sabotage Infiltration Attempts

STEPANAKERT — Press service of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) Ministry of Defense said Azerbaijani forces fired more than 260 mortar shells on its frontline positions on the night from Wednesday to Thursday. Also Azerbaijani commando units attempted an overnight unsuccessful incursions at three sections of “the line of contact” east of Karabakh.

“The front subdivisions of the Defense Army detected the advancement of the Azerbaijani special forces in due time and threw them back to their initial positions entailing casualties. The retreating enemy left behind a number of military hardware pieces designed for special operations,” said the statement.

The NKR Defense Army suffered no losses in the resulting firefights.
