LONDON — Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) President Bako Sahakian visited the Royal Institute of International Affairs Chatham House and delivered a speech there on July 8.
According to the press service of the NKR president, Sahakian touched upon state building, domestic and foreign policy of Artsakh, the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict settlement, regional developments and responded to the questions of the audience.
In his speech President Sahakian noted that Chatham House’s mission to help build a sustainably secure, prosperous and just world was very much congenial to Artsakh, adding that those ideas were also part and parcel of our world vision. According to the President such meetings were useful both for Artsakh and different states and international structures.
Foreign diplomats, scientists and analysts were present at the meeting.
Meetings with Armenian Community Organizations
On 7 and 8 July NKR President Bako Sahakian met in London with heads and representatives of the Social-Democratic Huchakian Party, the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Party (Dashnaktsoutyun) and the Ramkavar Azatakan Party branches in Great Britain.
Various issues related to the state building process in Artsakh, its domestic and foreign policy, the Artsakh-Diaspora cooperation were discussed during the meetings.
The Head of the State stressed the important role of the traditional parties in supporting Artsakh, solving issues of pan-Armenian significance and strengthening the Motherland-Diaspora ties.
President Sahakian also had a meeting with the members of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund’s Local Committee in Great Britain headed by its chair Armineh Carapeti.
Issues related to the implementation of various projects in Artsakh were discussed during the meeting.
