Hollande to Meet Putin in Armenia on April 24

PARIS — French President Francois Hollande will meet his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin during a visit to Armenia on April 24, a source in his office said on Friday, AFP reports.

The two leaders are attending the ceremony marking the 100th anniversary of the Armenian genocide and will discuss the Ukraine crisis, the source said. The meeting comes in the wake of France’s decision to suspend the delivery of two Mistral warships to Russia.

“As far as I understand, Putin and Hollande’s arrivals in Yerevan coincide. They will both be there at the same time so a meeting between them can’t be excluded on the sidelines of the program that is planned by the Armenian side,” Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told journalists on Friday.
