ACA-PAC Endorses Glendale City Council Candidates

GLENDALE – After numerous meetings, interviews and discussions with Glendale City Council candidates Vartan Gharpetian and Eric Yesayan, the Armenian Council of America-PAC (ACA-PAC) is proud to announce the endorsement of the two candidates for the upcoming Glendale Municipal Election.

Gharpetian, a long-time resident and small business owner in Glendale, has dedicated many years of his personal and professional life to the progress and growth of the community. In the past, he has served on the Parks, Recreation & Community Services Commission and advocated for more parks and open space, specifically in South Glendale. As a Commissioner on the Historic and Preservation Committee, he worked diligently to preserve the integrity of historical sites and landmarks within the city. He is a proponent of keeping Glendale a family-friendly town and is opposed to the rapidly growing development of projects that will worsen the traffic and parking situation in the city.

Yesayan, a Glendale native and Urban Planner by profession, has served on the city’s Planning Commission for the past five years. Working at an engineering and planning firm has given Yesayan the tools necessary to offer his expertise to the city in areas of transportation, water and energy policy. He has worked hard to ease the red tape for small businesses to allow a diverse mix of housing and improve city services for all residents. Committed to protect pedestrians and bikers in Glendale, Yesayan co-founded Walk Bike Glendale in 2011, the only pedestrian and bicyclist safety education and advocacy group in the city. He also serves on the City of Glendale’s Pedestrian Safety Task Force.

Thus, it is our belief, that the dedication, education, professional experience and community involvement of these two candidates, within the City of Glendale, will bring about a new wave of efficient, innovative and effective solutions to current challenges facing the city. They will be a tremendous addition to the integrity and strength of the Glendale City Council.
