Two Syrian-Armenian teenagers, who were trying to get to Armenia through Turkish territory, were kidnapped by opposition militants near the border on July 28th.
“The 14 and 12-year-old teens were taken away while 7 women who accompanied them were released and allowed to cross the border into Turkey,” press secretary of the Armenian Prelacy in Aleppo Jirayr Reisian informed reporter, without giving any further details.
He also said that the fate of four Syrian Armenians who were kidnapped at the border last week, remains unclear.
On July 26, militants stopped a minibus en route from Aleppo to Yerevan. They let three women go but took the men, whose names are already known: Garo Baboghlian, Karegin Hatsagortsian, Narek Varjabedian and Sako Asadurian.
