ISTANBUL (Agos) — The indictment against the public officials that was prepared by investigating prosecutor Gökalp Kökçü as a part of Hrant Dink case is returned to the prosecution by Public Prosecutor of Istanbul.

In the returned indictment, it is demanded that 25 public officials, including Security General Directorate Intelligence Branch Chief Engin Dinç, stand trial.

Prosecutor Gökalp Kökçü sent the indictment to Public Prosecutor of Istanbul on October 25, 2015 with the request of adding it to Hrant Dink case that is tried by Istanbul 5th High Penal Court.

Actually, the indictment was sent to Public Prosecutor of Istanbul on October 22, but it was returned to the prosecution for a technical correction.

In the indictment prepared by Kökçü it is demanded that former Trabzon Intelligence Branch Director Engin Dinç, former Trabzon Provincial Police Chief Resat Altay and former Istanbul Police Directorate Intelligence Branch Chief Ahmet Ilhan Güler, who were in office at the time of the assassination, should be prosecuted for assisting premeditated murder. If the bill of indictment is approved, they will be tried with a request of 20-25 years of prison sentence;

Aggravated life imprisonment is requested for former Security General Directorate Intelligence Branch Chief Ramazan Akyürek and the Director of Office C of the Security General Directorate Intelligence Branch Ali Fuat Yilmazer on charge of premeditated murder;

It is demanded that former Istanbul Provincial Police Chief Celalettin Cerrah and Istanbul Intelligence Branch Chief Sabri Uzun, who were in office at the time of the assassination, stand trial for official misconduct.

A total of 25 public officials are in the indictment for standing trial.
